Art does not have to be expensive. There, I said it, cat's out of the bag...
But honestly, there are tons of amazing prints out there that are gorgeous, funny, colourful, original... (or all of the above) and affordable!
At this very moment I am jumping on the bandwagon in support of mantra style prints. These graphic prints with quotes or lyrics always seem to be able to elicit an emotional response from me - sometimes a smile, the feeling of hope, a deeper thought...
Etsy is a great place to start if you have a blank wall in mind but aren't sure what you want (until you see it...). Here are some great Etsy finds:

I think what I love most about this style of art is that it screams DIY Project! Simply using Photoshop or Microsoft Office and a favorite quote or saying, it becomes easy to play around with colour and font and come up with an individualized piece of art.
I really like the look of the lyric prints at Music Philosophy and think that 3-5 on bright paper would look great on the wall that straddles my kitchen and dining area. I see a DIY project on the horizon...
And to wrap everything up... a gorgeous phrase in art form - this may have made me swoon a little (it was definitely an aww moment).

Agreed... swoon! So adorbs! I am loving quotes/lyrics as art too! I really liked those "all you need is love, love is all you need" prints from your post a few days ago... there are these letter stamps at Michael's that I've wanted for a while that have a similar look to the letters in those prints but I wasn't really sure what I'd do with them so I saw that beatles thing and was like DIY! haha I clearly need a bigger living space!
