What the hey is Pinterest?

While exploring pictures online, I found myself constantly ending up on this site called Pinterest. So then I started wondering what the hey is Pinterest?

It just so happens that "Pinterest is a place to catalog the things you love"

Turns out that a) I love things and b) I love being organized

Some quick detective work (aka reading their "about" page) and I found this...

Think of Pinterest as a virtual pinboard — a place where you can create collections of things you love and "follow" collections created by people with great taste. 

People use Pinterest to share all sorts of things - You name it, people are pinning it.

We know you have great taste in something. Our mission is to make Pinterest the best place for you to share your taste with the world.

I don't know about you but I find this so exciting! Think of the possibilities for sharing inspiration online! Last night, after only about 5 minutes of exploring the site I was hooked... and the next few hours flew by...

The best part? The lovely people at Pinterest also have a great bookmark that grabs an image from any website, adds it to one of your pinboards, and automatically grabs the source link so the original creator can get the proper credit. 

*I try really hard to give credit where credit is due but sometimes still forget where I found something.

The pinboards are grouped by category - a quick click on the home and furniture tab gets me to this...

I've added my name to their waiting list and have received a charming email promising to get me pinning soon! It all sounds very exclusive and you can bet your bottom dollar that as soon as I start pinning I'll start sharing more on here.
